Case Study: New Ways, Old Contacts

Assignment
In the framework of its 50 year anniversary in 2006, the Technical University of Eindhoven wanted to assess the possibilities for fundraising for new activities via a feasibility and planning study.

Approach and Result
Together with a senior consultant from Brakeley, Rob Frederix conducted a survey among approx. twenty internal ‘major players’ about their picture of today’s Technical University of Eindhoven and their vision of the future. The findings were presented to the Board of Directors in an interim report. Subsequently this picture of the future was presented to the most important external relations of the University. Firstly, in order to test if this picture of the future and the desired profile were recognisable, and secondly, to make clear how this could result in new forms of co-operation. Together with a plan, a proposal for organising a fundraising campaign and recommendations, the output was compiled into a report and presented to the Board. On the basis of this report Frederix Management Consultancy BV together with Brakeley provided a picture of the possibilities of fundraising for the Technical University of Eindhoven. The plan included, among other things, a proposal for time phasing. The first step has meanwhile been taken: The University is intensifying its contacts with alumni.
